Is the Intel(R) PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini Pci Adapter a Network Card for internet or some other device?
I need a network card and ethernet cable to connect ot the internet where I am going and the Intel(R) PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter is the device my PC is using now to connect to the internet yet I do not know if it is in fact an appropriate network card. If it’s not, where do I search on my PC to see if it is equipped with a network card?

What you have is a wireless card, and a fairly decent one, at that. Any time you’re within 50 yards or so of a place that is broadcasting a wifi signal, you’ll be able to get online. Gonna be in the middle of nowhere? You’ll need a cellular Internet card. Depending on your cellular provider, the exact one that’s best for you will change. Run a Google search on EV-DO, or contact your mobile provider.
If all else fails, you can connect with just an Ethernet cable. If your laptop has wireless, I can almost guarantee it has wired LAN, too.
