Laptops are never very god for gmaes, though the one youve lsited isnt too bad.
however for jsut gmaes the PS3 hands down, its IS the more powerufl machine(they use it in IBM Roadrunner fastest pc on earth), online is same as 360 (how can it not be, online play is not a variable) and the new games are pretty awesome(Littlebigpalnet, Infamoous, MGS4, Resisitance 2, Far cry 2, Force Unleashed etc etc). also you get the blu-ray drive too, and free online.
though i suppsoe if all your intrested in is palying Halo 3, then the 360 can do that (though your laptop will too in a few months too)

I have a HP Pavilion dv9000 series 17″ laptop. The fan has been going on overdrive the last couple days and finally just went kaput. I need to back up my data, but to get to the screws, apparently I need to remove the outer shell. Any suggestions on doing that? I removed all the screws, but am having trouble taking it out (since all the peripheral ports seem to be hindering removal).

I bought an ASUS SATA dvd-drive and the cables in the one I already have (the standard for a Dell Dimension 4700) don’t match the new drive. I think I might need an adapter, but I have no idea what kind.
You simply buy an SATA cable, plug that in the DVDR and the motherboard and windows should be able to detect it when you boot.
I checked your 4700 and it should have an SATA port. If it does not, then you are better off getting an ATA DVD drive and installing that. Otherwise, you need an IDE to SATA adaptor.
